Happy Monday! I’m hoping that many of you or your teens took my recommendations to take quality practice tests this weekend seriously. No wonder we had such an excellent showing at our practice SAT this weekend—21 students from 6 different schools on a Sunday afternoon is no joke. Kudos to everyone who took the time to test and move their top scores forwards.
One of the underappreciated benefits of practice is the lessons learned from the technical aspects of testing, which is to say the parts that have nothing to do with your reading, writing, or math skills. The digital SAT is particularly prone to mishaps involving the device and app required to take the test. In fact, making any of these five mistakes can ruin test day for an SAT student:
Show Up Late
Don’t Bring A Fully Charged And Working Device
Don’t Log Into Bluebook Or Run Updates In Advance
Forget Your Favorite Calculator
Don’t Dress For Testing

Also, if you or your teen would like to improve upon your current scores for the March SAT, we have an online SAT Cohort Class starting February 3!
Forgetting your ID is another big one!
6. Forget that whatever redily available energy your breakfast gave you will dissipate during Math Module 1. Bring a snack! Bring two snacks, one for the parking lot on arrival, one for during the test.
